This is another one that loves poor, dry soil conditions. It starts blooming in early summer and cutting this one back after the initial bloom will keep it blooming into the fall. It thrives in harsh conditions and is also deer and rabbit resistant. To keep this one coming back year after year leave the old foliage on the plant until it warms up in the spring to protect the crown of the plant.
