Persian Shield does not need flowers to show off in shaded gardens, the color alone is enough to make a splash. Rich Vibrant almost velvet like leaves add interest in and among the shaded areas in planters, containers, and landscape. On the plus side; it is beautiful and very low maintenance, on the negative side; it is not among the earliest of annuals that become ready. It takes longer to get ready for this garden beauty to come into its own and get ready for market. Be patient, it is worth it. We normally have this plant ready around the month of May and later.
